How BrewScout came to be
For about ten years, Rene had the same thought in the back of his mind: someone should build a better way to discover coffee places worth going out of your way for. He kept hoping that app would show up on its own.
By late 2024, that still had not happened, so he decided it was time to start building BrewScout himself. The idea moved from a long-running wish into a real product.
Early on, Milan and Raphael helped flush out the details of the app and get the groundwork going. Their brainstorming and foundational thinking helped turn a rough idea into something that could actually be built.
Hernani designed the app, shaping how BrewScout feels to use. Nick Liefhebber designed the badges in the app, and his work adds a distinct part of the product's character. You can find Nick's work at liefhebber.biz.
BrewScout is not a for-profit app. It is a passion project, and the intention is to keep it free for everyone who wants to use it.
